Celtic-themed Public Market
The traditional dancing and scone-tasting at the Market was a wonderful success! How lovely it was to see all of you at our table and on the dancefloor. Many thanks go out to our helpful bakers for the delicious treats: Barbara Ward Jack, Rosita Kelly, Joyce McCartney, Francine McCoubrey, Beverly McKinley, Allison Kirkwood, Tess LeBlanc, Pam Bown, Jayne Doddridge, Helen Bureau and Debbie Chakour, to our musician friends James Allan and Courtney Drew and to all those who participated in the lively dances. Thanks also to our special guests John Neilson, Alexander Wolff and Danny Stewart for their time travels! Long time no see!
Our office doors had been closed for some time during the pandemic and it was time to open them up again! In an effort to reconnect with you all, we co-hosted a live in-person and live online event with the Quebec Anglophone Heritage Network - QAHN and Voice of English-speaking Quebec during the municipal Family Day, Saturday August 20, 2022 from 1 pm to 4 pm. We had a special unveiling and discussion of a restored map from 1896, held a visit of our archives room, added some stitches to a community quilt and met other local heritage members from our region! All this was complimented with traditional music and dance, of course. If you missed it, you can watch the live recording of this grand event on QAHN's Facebook page. |
Re-bienvenue!
Thank you to all who attended our virtual "St. Patrick's in September" event of music and dance on September 19th, 2020! It was a grand success thanks to our talented performers and lovely guests, our hard-working team and our attentive viewers!!
If you missed it, or if you would like to watch it over again, click HERE. St. Patrick's Day is an important event to many of us, whether we have Irish roots or not. Throughout the month of March, celebrations abound in the greater Quebec City region. Given the circumstances this year, we decided to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in September! In collaboration with QAHN's "A Different Tune" project, Voice of English-Speaking Quebec and the Shannon Catholic Women's League, this event was held on Facebook Live, on September 19th, and featured talented local musicians, singers and dancers. Halfway to St. Paddy's Day, perfect time to celebrate! |
